An alternative to Money View Money Manager

Last verified 6 October 2026

Money View Money Manager can no longer be installed, so the question is what to move to. If what you valued was automatic tracking from bank SMS at no cost, Skimp does that, without the account and without the lender. If you need an iPhone app or bill reminders, another app on this site's comparison fits better.

This page is written by the developer of Skimp, so read it with that in mind. Every statement about Money View Money Manager links to where it comes from, and the list of other apps is one click away.

What Money View Money Manager is

The standalone Money View Money Manager app is no longer on Google Play. Its store page returned “not found” when checked on 6 October 2026. Moneyview's remaining app is a UPI and personal-loans app.

Money View Money Manager was a free expense tracker from the lender Moneyview that read transaction SMS to show spending without manual entry. It is still named in many lists of the best expense trackers in India, including recent ones, although the standalone app has been withdrawn.

What changes if you move to Skimp

What Skimp replaces

The core of Money Manager was a ledger built from bank SMS with no typing. Skimp does the same: it reads the alerts, extracts amount, merchant and account, and files the transaction, with a review queue for anything it is unsure of. It adds split transactions, tags, recurring rules and custom categories.

What is different

Money Manager came from a company whose main product is personal loans, and the standalone tracker has been withdrawn. Skimp has no account, cannot connect to the internet, and sells nothing. Your old Money View data cannot be imported: Skimp has no import from other apps, so it rebuilds your history from the bank SMS still in your inbox.

What Skimp does not replace

Skimp has no bill or due-date reminders, no cloud backup of its own, and no iPhone version. If one of those was why you used Money View, look at the other apps in the comparison.

Choose Skimp if

  • You want the same no-typing tracking from bank SMS, free
  • You would rather not sign in, or hand spending data to a lender
  • Your bank SMS history is still on your phone, so the ledger can be rebuilt from it
